Joana de Oliveira Guerreiro, 1988, born and bread in Lisbon, Portugal. Lived in quite a few places and studied a wide variety of subjects before becoming a full time artist. It was in 2015 when Joana quit her job at NATO HQ, Brussels to move to Liverpool to start working as a full time artist. Joana has a multitude of interests that inspire her work. Ranging from mundane stories and everyday scenarios to understanding the philosophical aspects of almost everything, in particular, humour. There’s a common denominator in Joana’s work that highlights the humorous side of the harshest realities.

This work is featured as part of the Convenience Store at the Manchester Contemporary in 2023.
